CANADA ACTION PLAN
Write to the Prime Minister, Leaders of Opposition Parties, any Senators you know personally and your own MP demanding the following as a condition of any continued or possible future political support.
1. Parliament must amend the Bank Act of 1991 to reinstate the requirement for all banks to maintain cash reserves against their deposits at a level to be determined by the Minister of Finance or his designate from time to time.
2. The Government of Canada must create non-redeemable, non-transferable shares in Canada and give them to the Bank of Canada in exchange for sufficient cash to balance its budget, provide relief to the provinces and their municipalities and stimulate the economy until it is operating at full capacity again.
3. Reduce the leverage of the privately-owned banks steadily until it has fallen from 20 to 1 to 3 to 1. Enact strict new regulations as to the purposes for which banks may or may not extend loans.
4. Accept that global warming is at a critical stage and set a ten-year time target to change from a fossil fuel economy to a clean energy economy. In order to facilitate the transformation, demand that the U.S. release secret files on the development of exotic energy sources and make the knowledge available to the world at modest royalties. Meanwhile suspend any further offshore drilling for oil or new projects to extract bitumen from the oil sands.
5. Ask the U.N. to declare 2012 the year of forgiveness and reconciliation – a new era of cooperation and (agape) love between races, tribes, religions, nations and regions.
